Yellow Ostrich
Released on December 18, 2011
We recently had Yellow Ostrich, one of my favorite Brooklyn bands, join us at the Ditmas Park home studio of Dan Molad and Jess Wolfe of Lucius for a highly anticipated episode of Honey I'm Home. Originally the lo-fi bedroom pop creation of frontman Alex Shaaf, the project now boasts a much richer sound with the addition of Michael Tapper on drums, Jon Natchez on horns and Shaaf’s masterful use of his looping machine (which was purposely excluded for this recording). Yellow Ostrich is a recent add to the Barsuk Records family, which re-released their glorious sophomore LP, Mistress.
