Lucy Rose
Released on June 5, 2018
English singer-songwriter, Lucy Rose, joined us at Douglass Recording for a very special session just four days after landing in New York on one of her recent tours. We were lucky enough to record stripped down versions of “No Good At All” and “Strangest Of Ways” off of her most recent album, Something’s Changing.
We love Lucy for the authenticity and timeless nature of her songwriting, and in this session, we really were transported. There is a certain peace that resonates throughout these performances — a deep sense of security and calm that she transmits through song. Stripped back to just a few instruments and layered with harmonies from her bandmates, the stories that live inside of these songs come fully into the light. This was captured by director Emmett Kerr-Perkinson, whose focus on the band members really brings us back to the intimacy and tranquility of these moments.
