Being with Local Natives for their performance at the base of Hunter Mountain during the taping of our new season of On The Mountain was an out-of-body experience. Against the backdrop of a snowy landscape and skiers weaving through the scene, their unique melodies and delicate harmonies rang beautifully through the crisp mountain air. Despite the cold, the band delivered an utterly flawless performance. We recorded fan favorites from their recent albums, “Just Before the Morning” and “Alpharetta.”

Back at Glen Falls House, our other home base for the ski trip, we taped the band’s intimate live set. The crowd was stoked to hear “NYE” and the band’s 2009 hit, “Airplanes.” Witnessing both the intimate live session and the rock star set at the cozy Catskills resort helped us even more appreciate what makes this band so special.
