<< As breakfast is my favorite meal, I feel accredited to weigh in on my favorite breakfast eateries in Austin. I go to Joann's on Congress for their veggie migas and their flaky biscuits.>>
<< I go to Counter Cafe on East 6th for their sausage patties (that are made in house) and for their biscuits and gravy.>>
<< The hillside theatre (inside of Zilker Park) does an annual summer musical that is performed outdoors. It's a bring your snacks and blankets and watch on the hillside type situation. Growing up in Austin my family would go every summer, it was one of my first exposures to the arts and is an instantly nostalgic experience for anyone who attends. Also pairs well with a dip in the springs before the show...>>

<< Veracruz is simply the best, better than all the rest, better than any other taco I ever met. The juices don't slouch either.>>
<< Eat at Casa De Luz. You don't have to watch Dynasty or use animal products to have an attitude. Come for the macrobiotic diet, stay for the odd ball clientele.>>
<< The Song Confessional Booth at Hotel Magdelena is this cool thing where you go tell a story and then musicians write a song inspired by it. Probably the coolest thing I've ever seen.>>
TWO Robbers is a hard seltzer brand existing in the space between beverages, art and conversation. Our flagship hard seltzers are made with honest ingredients, no sugar and no sweeteners, and our proprietary brewing process for the cleanest tasting hard seltzer out there.

<< We'll have Rebel Cheese joining us for the show at Sam's Town Point so obviously they're on this list. If you're vegan or not, this is a must-try spot in Mueller.>>
<< I guess not technically in Austin, and also disclaimer, they're working with us on this project, but the Desert Door distillery in Driftwood is seriously amazing. Good food from the team who was behind Eden East, and of course the badass cocktails.>>

<< Slovacek's is the only stop to make between Dallas and Austin. It's almost exactly half way and has the best kolaches you could want. Savory and sweet and the best moral booster mid journey.>>

<< One of the best espresso shots I've ever had was at Dichotomy Coffee in Waco. Also, you can sip and stare at the Alico Building and wonder why anyone thought it was a good idea to build something so tall.>>

<< The Monarch is fire and such a cool experience restaurant wise.>>
<< Taverna is bomb.>>

<< Lockhart Smokehouse is the best BBQ around. In an awesome part of town Bishop Arts district. You know it's fire when you don't even need sauce. Great beer as well.>>
<< Hudson House has incredible seafood and oysters. Best martini in town, and on the low-key their burger could be one of the best in the city.>>
<< Deep Ellum district is super funky. Lots of cool music venues and industrial buildings. Loved our short time in that area.>>

<< Jaxon was a no brainer when we were planning this series. Amazing people and great reputation for killer bites and drinks.>>

<< Old Town Spring. Tiny little town in Spring, Texas where there are antique shops and great restaurants. During the right time they also have festivals and car shows which are awesome.>>

<< You gotta check out Brasil. They have great coffee and cocktails, open late, they have something for everyone (including good vegan/vegetarian options) and a great patio. Brasil is good for most occasions!>>
<< Next you need to go to Moon Tower. It has another great patio, located in the east end. Moon Tower's veggie burger and veggie taco are so good that I haven't committed to 100% vegan because I will always cheat for Moon Tower! The staff is so friendly and cool, it's an all around solid spot.>>

<< As a Houston native, I feel an overwhelming sense of pressure to get this right and to not ruffle any feathers of my hometown comrades. Having said that, I feel confident about making my first round draft pick, Giacomo's Cibo e Vino. I found this spot by way of a happy accident. I was in town looking for a low key dinner spot for a birthday, which led me to googling <<Italian restaurant that starts with G…Houston, TX>> While I was actually trying to remember and find <<Grotto>>, Giancomo's popped up and they were able to accommodate a last minute reservation. I was blown away. I could go into extravagant detail about their otherworldly, mouthwateringly-delicious Italian dishes but I think you'll have more fun going in blind. Just trust me on this one.>>
<< My second choice, La Hacienda on Memorial Dr., is based on pure nostalgia. It's the atmosphere that makes it a winner. It's loud, it's chaotic, and there's always top notch mariachi music waltzing around the tables and banging against the pink chipped walls. Feels like home, feels like Houston.>>
<< MFAH (Museum of Fine Arts Houston) is as relevant now as ever. Excellent curation of exhibits and always a good time. I remember going to a party there circa 2006 where Basquiat art was on display while Grandmaster Flash was spinning records…so fuck yeah MFAH.>>

<< If you're taking 71 between Houston and Austin your choice is easy for where to stop. In my mind, it is an absolute must. Perfectly placed near halfway between the two cities lives Hruska's. Here you will find the tastiest little bakery attached to a Chevron gas station. They have my favorite kolaches of all time. Pro tip, get a savory and a sweet.>>
